Bring It On 3 on IMDb.com

Before you say ‘why is she whining and yapping non-stop about unrelated BIO things?’ I would like to say that there’s still no new info regarding BIOYA at the present time. But I was kinda surprise to see that for once IMDB.com is actually behind in dishing out new infos regarding upcoming movies. Only very recently that IMDB.com had included BIOYA (under the BIO3 title) in their database and with basic info to boot. If any other fan had any kind of info that they would like to share, please email me at the usual address (that address being ranchocarnehigh@yahoo.com)

SIDE-STORY: ANTM Part 2

It also amazes me that the so-called ‘experts’ in Superdiva T’s squad manages to overlook some very promising faces and picked the weird and zero-model-quality girls almost in each season.

CYCLE 1 – They only showed us fast-forward clips of the semis as to blind us from actually seeing any real talent within the group of girls.

CYCLE 2 – Again with the (very) brief and fast forward clips (or was there even one? I can’t remember). Shame on you ANTM people!

CYCLE 3

Introduced as Nargis in the Cycle 3 semis, she admitted feeling like she was being played by ANTM after successfully passing the auditions for both Cycle 2 and 3 and even got as close as the Top 20 but alas, Superdiva T has other agendas in her mind. But don’t worry people, I’m sure that Nargis is very comfortable with her new ‘home’ at Major Model Management.

Another fellow Top 20 from Cycle 3 that got booted out when Eva (Why??!!) was named as the last contestant in the Top 14 list. Superdiva T attempt to redeem herself by comforting the crying Rachel in the bathroom. Whatever Ty! Rachel is now with NY Models and has been appearing in Project Runway Season 2.

Another face that might be very familiar throughout the ANTM circuit is plus-size contender Mary (please email me if someone has a pic of her). She actually auditioned for Cycle 3, Cycle 4 and Cycle 5 and had also gone up to the Top 20 in the previous 2 seasons only to be brush off like dirt in the end. Mary is a pretty girl but I don’t know why she kept thinking that ANTM is somewhat her last shot at a modeling career. Didn’t modeling agencies these days had their own plus-size divisions?

CYCLE 4

There’s a girl I really like named Alexandria (again, please email me if anyone had her pic) but again, after getting through the semis, she was cut off for some unknown reason.

CYCLE 5

Here’s Regina from Cycle 5. Some people mention her body type being neither plus-size or regular model but hey, I still love her.

Even though Susanna is not exactly one of my favorites at the Cycle 5 semis, I still prefer her than some of the final contestants. Plus, I really wanna see more ethnical diversity in ANTM.

SIDE-STORY: The Apprentice 4 & ANTM 5

I’ve wanted to make some kind of comment on 2 of my favorite series, the Apprentice 4 and ANTM 5 (America’s Next Top Model for those who still doesn’t know) that ended recently (okay, maybe not so recently) but something kept getting in my way. First, there’s my slave-driving boss that kept dropping ‘assignments’ at my desk, as if I have no life to go back to. Then, there’s the upcoming wedding of my 18 year old niece (yes, I did say niece) Emma to her barely-out-of-college fiancé and after a series of very, very unfortunate events, I’m appointed as the new maid-in-honor after Julia bailed out. And I swear that I’ll be all Oprah (or just bitch-slap someone) if anyone (particularly nosy match-making aunts) mention the phrase ‘Don’t worry dear, your time will come eventually’ at the wedding (which is like in 3 weeks). Last but not least, Jojo’s literary been begging me to take him back after Julia’s cold brush off last night. Hah! Serves you right for dumping me in the first place you furry-white-feline!

Back to the main focus now. I’ve always rooted for Randal in the Apprentice Season 4 so I’m ecstatic when my prediction came true. And that priceless question from The Donald (he asked him whether he should hire runner-up Rebecca as well) is definitely the highlight of the finale, seconds only to Randal’s roughly translated ‘Hell No!” answer. But it might not be the 1st time that Mr. Trump appeared to be uncertain with his final decision. Remember femme-bot Jen in Season 2? The Donald was so ‘impressed’ with the talking Barbie that he’d almost made the mistake of choosing her over someone-who-actually-can-do-his-job Kelly. But you gotta hand it to The Donald for his good track record in hiring the right employees. Previous winners include Bill from Season 1 (but Kwame is also a top choice in my book) and Kelly from Season 2. And I admit it, I practically jump out of my seat when Kendra from Season 3 was named the new ‘apprentice’ cause I was fighting the urge to reach into the TV and smack Tana’s head as hard as I could.

But things cannot be more different in my all time favorite reality series, the ANTM. I’m unashamed to admit that I’m an ANTM devotee even since Cycle 1 produces the fabulous Elyse and Adrienne. And for years, I’ve been struggling with the judges so-called ‘decisions’ regarding the winners, and the recent Cycle 5 is no exception. Nicole might have the potential to become a model but Nik is the clear winner in my mind. And even though I’m not exactly a Lisa’s fan, I’m still ‘dumbfounded’ that the judges let her go cause she has some serious potential, way ahead of whiny Nicole. But then again, this is what I think anyway. But what’s for certain, there’s definitely some ‘sinister force’ behind the decisions that might felt threatens with the previous & upcoming winners (dare I say superdiva T) and it must be stop immediately. So far the only ‘technically right’ decisions that were previously made includes Adrienne Cycle 1 (although I think Elyse should’ve won it but I’m cool with Adrienne) and Naima Cycle 4 (even though I’m more of a Brita & Kahlen fan). I’ve also come to terms with Yoanna Cycle 2’s winning (yes Mercedes, it definitely sucks when you didn’t win it cause you definitely deserved it girl) but Eva Cycle 3’s just so wrong to me. And even though I literary hate Yaya (oh look at me, I’m a prissy, multilingual bitch) I found myself actually rooting for her in the end to beat the crap out of Miss Runway-Challenge-Mini-Diva. Kate Moss you ain’t baby!

My top 10 favorite ANTM contestants so far are as follows (in personal ranking order):

1. Mercedes Yvette (Cycle 2)
2. Elyse Sewell (Cycle 1)
3. Nik Pace (Cycle 5)
4. Sara Racey-Tabrizi (Cycle 2)
5. Brita Petersons (Cycle 4)
6. Toccara Jones (Cycle 3)
7. Nicole Borud (Cycle 3)
8. Adrienne Curry (Cycle 1) & Kahlen Rondot (Cycle 4) – tie
9. April Wilkner (Cycle 2)
10. Norelle Van Herk (Cycle 3) & Coryn Woitel (Cycle 4) – tie

SIDE-STORY: Rockstar INXS

I think I’m the only one on the planet who’d just discovered that the series had ended when I saw the band’s latest video on TV last week. How cavemen-era am I? I used to watch it every week but after the 5th episode (I think) I got a ‘higher calling’ (aka my ‘deadline people!’ boss) and had COMPLETELY forgot about it. No wonder Lizzie (my office best friend) was giving me this odd ‘are-you-serious?’ look when I ask who got voted out the show last 2 weeks. Anyway, I was kinda surprise to see JD Fortune as the band’s new frontman cause I thought Mig Ayesa had it in his grasp. He had that whole Rolling Stone vibe going on. Even Julia commented on him being a dead-ringer to Mick Jagger as we’re watching him doing his thing in between those 1-5th episodes. But I’m not all disappointed that Fortune eventually won it though. He looks damn hot (and all sweaty, just to prove that point) in the INXS new video (Dirty Vegas is it?). I can just imagine the director going ‘yeah, work it JD, work it! And while you’re at it, take off that damn shirt so the girls can go ga-ga over you’. That’s a long way to go from being a homeless guy isn’t it? And I was so sure that no matter how good the girls were (when I actually watch the show) none of them would ever be picked as the lead singer for the band. Can you imagine 4 (or 5 cause I hardly notice the guys, sorry!) old dudes and a young girl together in a band? Expect no Season 2 with this series, unless they decided to change their drummer or guitarist or something…

SIDE-STORY: The Cut

I can’t believe that I’m stuck with work all though the weekends! I’m blaming it all on my boss (like I would have the guts to say that in front of him). I’m barely at home so when I finally got in, I notice Jojo had turned his back on me and join the dark side (aka my younger sister Julia). Hah, good luck in finding nice, ‘high quality’ canned food you ungrateful feline!

Anyway, I found myself wide a wake at 3 am last night and since there’s nothing interesting in TV, I hijacked my sister’s The Cut recorded videos and indulged in some ‘reality’ show. I’d watched the first two episodes when it was aired but hadn’t got around to watch the rest. And even after all these times, I still found out that Liz is hands down the most annoying contestant on the show!

(Shauna & Deanna are bad-mouthing her behind her back)
Liz: Why don’t you guys just say it in from of my face cause I can hear everything that who’ve said anyway.
Deanna: Cause you never listen to what…
Liz: All I’m saying it that if you wanted to say something, just say it on my face (walks away)

Right! She reminds me of another contestant in The Apprentice 2 (I think her name was Elizabeth or something). They had that same clueless-and-extremely-irritating vibe. I kinda like Deanna (very drama queen, I love it!) and James (which goes to show that looks can be deceiving) but it was no surprise that Chris Cortez eventually won it. I mean really! How could Mr. Hilfiger resist? The guy practically worships the ground that Tommy Hilfiger had walked on, for God’s sake. Too bad my sister only taped the show up until episode 8 or 9.

Update
I just notice that some of my yapping for this entry had been cut off (for some unknown technical reason) so here’s the rest of it.

What the hell was Tommy H thinking when he chooses Felix over James anyway? I mean come on! He doesn’t even like the guy (but hey, there’s that ‘long term picture’ thing that he’s been talking … whatever that may be since he ultimately chooses Chris C anyway). Wes, Shauna and Deanna made a great team together (although Shauna irritates me at times). And apart from Liz (who can’t seem to stop complaining, whining and nagging to everyone) I also think that psycho-Jeff has some serious issues, particularly that short-fused, panic-prone problem.

New Title?

Recently when I flicked through some music channels on TV and had came across an entertainment news-like program which stated what BIO/BIOA fans had already know; that Rihanna will be appearing in the next installment of BIO. But what caught my attention was the suppose title to the movie = “Bring It On, Bring It On, Bring It On Again”? Highly doubtful that Universal will stick to that kind of title. Firstly, it’s too damn long. How am I supposed to create an initial for it? BIOBIOBIOA? Second, it sounds more like a tag line rather than a title. And last but not least, it just sounds weird to me. Here’s a recent example of a conversation between me and my best friend JC.

Me: Have you heard the news? Apparently they’re shooting a new BIO movie.
JC: Which movie are we talking about here?
Me: Y’know, the Bring It On, Bring It On, Bring It On Again movie.
JC: (Silent for a few seconds) Did you just cheer?

I rest my case! But there’s no confirmation on the official title for the movie until all shootings had been done I suppose. So far, there’re 3 choices – it’s either Bring It On 3 (too common) Bring It On Yet Again (acceptable) or BIOBIOBIOA. I wish they did something like ‘Bring It On 3: Cheer Fever’ since Cheer Fever is the original title for BIO before they changed it.

SIDE-STORY: Top 3 Couples in Show-Biz List

Okay, so I admit that I’m (over) excited to finally be entering this used-to-be-unfamiliar-territory-I-now-know-as-blogging that even though I can’t find any new info on BIOYA (sorry folks!) my fingers are still itching to type something. And since I got ‘grounded’ in the office by my boss, I got too much thinking time so I’ve made up my very own Top 3 Show-Biz Couples list. Expect more lists in this blog in the future. Oh and by the way, Aeon Flux rules!

MOST ANNOYING COUPLES
1) Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes – That overly PDA on Oprah was nothing compare to the sonogram machine that he had allegedly bought for pregnant Katie now. Creepy indeed!
2) Britney Spears & Kevin Federline – Cedric the Entertainer said it best on AMA recently; ‘I ain’t saying he’s a gold-digger, but he ain’t messing with no broke (broke)…’
3) David Beckham & Victoria (Spice Girls) – I got to know about them through my London-based friend Gabby endless chatter on the Spice Girls (she’s still a huge fan of theirs). I don’t know, to me they just screams ‘desperate’ particularly Victoria.

COOLEST COUPLES
1) Tim McGraw & Faith Hill – Tom & Katie, please take note on how the McGraws are doing it; less is more.
2) Travis Barker (Blink 182) & Shanna Moekler – I’m a fan of Meet the Barkers so obviously I would be bias towards them
3) Gwen Stefani & Gavin Rossdale – Rock couples rule! Plus, I think they looked really good together.

MOST UNLIKELY COUPLES
1) Joel Madden & Hillary Duff – Who knew that pop & rock could blend well together? But Hillary’s showy cheekbones bothers me.
2) Bow Wow & Ciara – I kinda like them. The only thing that amuses me was the difference in erm, how should I pit this, their height
3) Heath Ledger & Michelle Williams – It still puzzles me on how the two end up together. The Dawson Creek’s chicks really know how to find and catch their men huh?

HOTTEST COUPLES
1) Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie – Seriously, you cannot not think of them every time anyone ask you about the hottest man & women on show-biz.
2) Adam Brody & Rachel Bilson – Again, I’m a fan of The O.C so it’s no surprise that I’ll be putting them here. (Are they still together?)
3) Dave Navarro & Carmen Electra – Toning down those blink-and-you’ll-missed-it clothes is definitely the right thing for Carmen. You go girl!
